ABOUT THE ART
Over- Glaze porcelain Painting also known as China painting is the decoration of glazed porcelain objects such as plates, bowls, vases or statues. The body of the object may be hard-paste porcelain, developed in China in the 7th or 8th century, or soft-paste porcelain (often bone china). Decorations may be applied by brush or by stenciling, transfer printing, lithography and screen printing.
Post application the object needs to be kiln-fired, so that the pigment bonds with the surface. In order to acquire a finished painting the artist needs to apply few more layers; every layer to fired after application. The journey of a porcelain painting is therapeutic, and the results are beautiful, delicate & dainty.
